Colorado conducts active population- and laboratory-based surveillance in the five-county Denver metropolitan area (Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties) through CDC’s Emerging Infections Program (EIP) Healthcare-Associated Infections Community Interface (HAIC) activity.
